Advance & Adventure

Troop 222 scout works on rank advancement with a scout leader.
Scout working on advancement!

Girls in scouts learn independence, resilience, and outdoor skills. Through weekly meetings and monthly adventures, new experiences build upon a foundation of values to deliver young women prepared for the world.

Adventure

Scouts can go backpacking, climbing, canoeing, shooting, and caving. Summer camp opens opportunities for 4-wheeling, sailing, and much more. Girls crave adventure and even (especially) when things get challenging, the best comes out in them.

Rank Advancement

New scouts focus on learning scouting skills and progress through the ranks of Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class in the first or second year. The scout leadership team lead by the Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) and assisted by the Patrol Leaders’ Council (PLC). The scout-led PLC fills weekly meetings and campouts with items that help girls advance. Older scouts change their focus to leadership development while earning the ranks of Star, Life, and Eagle (which must be complete before the deadline of her 18th birthday)!

This range of ages and mix of structure and adventure is the perfect mix to challenge a group of girls and keep them motivated. Adult leaders assist in all of this and ensure scouts stay safe, but the purpose of scouting is to ensure this happens through girl leadership.
